Please come along to the final book sorting of 2025. It seems hard to believe it as the year has gone very quickly. Of course there will be the final BBQ and there maybe a touch of Xmas cheer!

There will be no more Monday meetings until 19th January 2026.

Welcome back everyone. We hope you have all had a great time with family and friends celebrating Xmas and the start of 2026. Then hopefully time to have a rest over the past two weeks. We are back sorting again on Monday 19th at Rotary House at 5pm with a celebrataory BBQ to follow. Please come and help as we get closer to our first Book Fair of the year in February..

Well holidays are now over so let's get sorting!  We have only a few weeks to the Book Fair and so we need to do more sorting, especially after the drop off on Sunday. Please advise by Sunday 5pm if you are attending for the catering of the BBQ.

Calling all our members, wives, husbands, partners, friends and of course of friends of Rotary. We are having our first social event for 2026 on Monday 9th February at the Great Western Hotel, 177 Aberdeen Street, Newtown, in the side room off the bar. Please be there from 6pm for a 6.30pm start. It will be lovely to catch up and see everyone. Please make sure you reply to the invite and click save and of course add in any guests by the end of Sunday 8th Feb as the booking needs to be confirmed.

On Monday 16th February there will be NO book sorting as we have no boxes to put the books into. However there will be a fabulous BBQ for us to get together at Rotary House, before the hard work starts on Thursday next week, 19th Feb with set up for the Book Fair. We are asking people to arrive from 6pm onwards, with the BBQ around 6.30pm dependent upon the cooks! We have a special guest, Jas Moar from Sacred Heart College, together with her Mum, Jude..Our Rotary Club sponsored her to attend the Science Experience at the University of Melbourne in the school holidays and she will tell us about her time in the program. In addition Lesley will give us an overview of what has, and is happening at Board level, and we will make sure you have the final arrangements for the Book Fair. Please note that there is NO meeting on the Monday after the Book Fair - Monday 23rd February.

Hi everyone.

On Monday 23rd March there will be an event with a difference. It will commence at 3pm at Geelong Disabled People's Industries at 6 to 8 Baxter Road, just along from Rotary House. Those involved at GDPI will be showing us through their premises and expalining how people are engaged in various employment there. Please arrive about 10 mins prior so that this can start on time. Following this there will be an afternoon tea at Rotary House until around 5pm and then book sorting until 6.30pm. THERE WILL BE NO BBQ AFTER BOOK SORTING. Please register by 6pm on Sunday 22nd March.

Hope you all had a great Easter break. We are back book sorting again on Monday 13th April starting at 5pm with a get together after at around 6.30pm. Please respons by Sunday 12th April at 5pm.

Another book sorting evening followed by some delicious food and friendly chatter. Please respond by 5pm on Sunday April 19th.

On Monday April 27th there will be a social get together for Geelong West RC members and partners at The Great Western Hotel. 6pm for 6.30pm. 

Please register your acceptance or decline for this and remember to scroll down and press save so that Lesley has an accurate number for the event by Sunday 26th April at 5pm.

On Monday May 4th there will be some book sorting but we are asking those attending to bring along a picture of their mother. As it is the meeting prior to Mother's Day there will be a "Match the person to their mother" competition.as well as the usual taste and wine testing after the book sorting!

Please register by Sunday 3rd May at 5pm.

More book sorting on Monday May 11th from 5pm at Rotary House. However come along and savour Trish's Tacos!  Please register and save by 5pm on Sunday 10th May.

Hi everyone. Back to book sorting on Monday next week, 25th May.  Usual start 5pm with a get together after we have cleared a few books!

Hi everyone - this is the first email for our event on Monday 1 June. Trish has organised a tour of the Deakin Uni Intelligent Systems at Waurn Ponds campus. Trish is asking everyone to be at the event by 3.15pm so that it can commence on time at 3.30pm. We are asking people to register by Friday May 29th at 5pm. This is a member event but Trish may email after this time to invite partners if the 20 places offered have not been filled. Once we have an idea who is attending she will send out information of where the event is taking place and a map of how to get there.

Due to restricted numbers of who can attend, members only will have received an invite to a special event at Deakin University on June 1st in the afternoon. However after this event we will be having dinner at the Waurn Ponds Hotel and all members, partners and friends of the Geelong West RC are invited to join us arriving at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. The area to the side of the bistro has been booked for us. The Waurn Ponds Hotel is at 154 Princes Highway and the suggestion is that you give yourselves plenty of time to get there as the traffic on the highway is particularly bad at that time of the day. Please register by 5pm on Friday 29th May.
