Presentation of Paul Harris Fellow with Sapphire Pin to Daryl McLure
Daryl has been a member of the Rotary Club of Geelong West for almost 20 years and has provided outstanding service through the many avenues of Rotary Service.
Daryl has previously been formally recognised with a Paul Farris Fellow by this Club and now, we will to add to that recognition, with the Paul Harris with Sapphire Pin.
Importantly this recognition is matched with a further contribution of US$1,000.00 to the Rotary Foundation, which continues to do outstanding work across Rotary many projects worldwide.
In presenting this Pin, we acknowledge Daryl’s contribution to the Geelong Book Fair, which he has chaired for many years.
The Book Fair continues to grow and 2015 saw another outstanding success with an income exceeding $20,000.00.
Daryl also works diligently to provide quality speakers to address the Club.
This is a time consuming and difficult task in co-ordinating the speakers to fit in with their diaries to meet the needs of the Club.
Daryl also writes a weekly Opinion Piece in the Geelong Advertiser which provides though provoking comments on the issues of the day. Again he undertakes his research to the ‘enth’ degree.
